Like other academic courses of study, physical education is based upon rigorous national standards that define what students should know and be able to do as a result of participation. Physical education is unique to the school curriculum as it is on the only program that provides students with opportunities to learn motor skills, develop fitness, and gain understanding about the importance of physical activity.</p>

<p>Bible class offers the chance to get a better look at God’s plan for our lives. In 7th grade we take a “journey” though the Old and New Testaments, in 6th grade we learn all about being “wise” verse “foolish” as we study Proverbs. 8th grade is all about the Life of Christ and how we can “know” Him rather than just know “facts” about Him. <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Bible class is a place to ask questions, pray and learn what it is to have a personal relationship with God.</span></strong></p>
<p><strong></strong>History  class for 6th is all about our ancient cultures and where “everything” started. We study ideas, traditions and enjoy several art projects that go along with the culture we are studying. 7th grade is World Studies; again we see what it was like in the “old” days. The students learn about several different countries and their people. We enjoy cooking many new recipes that come from the lands we study. 8th grade studies American History; from the discovery of America through the New Millennium (up to 2008).  In addition the students spend one quarter learning all about our Constitution; we discuss just what it means to live in a “free” country and how to show respect and support for our country. <strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">We study history to know where we came from, what events shaped our country and how we fit into the world around us.</span></strong></p>

<p>Please take time to visit <a href="http://vickicecil.yolasite.com/" target="_blank">my site</a>. It is a great way to find out what is going on or what we have been &#8220;up to.&#8221; I try to have lessons for each grade posted by Tuesday. You will also find interesting links (including my shutterfly page); any upcoming events, course descriptions, projects and activities, Student Leadership, Washington, D.C., and any other information and updates you might need. I know in middle school, notes and things do not always find their way home or to you. This is a great way to keep in touch with what is happening  at school.</p>
