Twos

Now that the children are getting older and have developed some sense of routine we have put more of a schedule into our day.  There are specific times to put our learning into place, i.e. art activities, storytime, music/movement.  There is still opportunity for children to discover on their own.

Language development is key when children are two.  They are learning new words and how to formulate short sentences, so our main focus in the 2’s is language development.  We also work quite a bit on our colors and shapes.

Potty training is another key area where we work.  When children show a sign of readiness, or if parents are potty training at home, the teachers will partner with the parents to make this a win/win situation.

As the children are getting older, they will experience our older 2’s class.  In this class, while we still focus on language, colors and shapes, we also do more teacher directed activities.  The children learn to follow directions and how to share more.  And all these activities are centered around how Jesus loves us.
